San Carlos Apache Tribal Enrollment Office Updates Birth Certificate Policy

San Carlos, AZ – July 17, 2025 – The Office of San Carlos Apache Tribal Enrollment announces an important update to its documentation policy. Effective July 17 2025, original birth certificates will no longer be held on file by the Enrollment Department.

As part of the enrollment process, an original or notarized birth certificate will still be required for verification. However, after authenticity is confirmed, a copy will be retained for records and the original document will be immediately returned to the applicant.

Tribal members who have previously submitted a birth certificate and wish to retrieve it from our files may do so by visiting our office in person. Proper identification is required. If you are requesting a birth certificate on behalf of a minor tribal member, you must be the legal parent or guardian and present supporting documentation.
